Clinical Laboratory Sciences is part of the newly-formed Radcliffe Department of Medicine (RDM), a large multi-disciplinary department with research interests that span from basic biological research through to clinical application. The drivers for the formation of the new Department were the opportunity for enhanced delivery of scientific synergy, improved financial stability, and a unified interface with the rest of the Division.
The integration of clinical laboratory-based disciplines (Microbiology and Infection, Clinical Genetics, Cellular Pathology, Haematology and Clinical Biochemistry) within the RDM contributes to a coherent strategy for translational and experimental medicine.
The Division offers D.Phil. and M.Sc. by Research courses in Medical Sciences.
